Mission
The Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford, Inc., in the interest of improving the quality of community life and revitalizing neighborhoods, is committed to being an on-going producer, owner and manager of affordable, well-built, permanent housing for Greater Hartford residents of varied incomes. Permanency of residence adds to the community stability.
The strength and vitality of the association is derived from its partnership structure which joins in membership persons from local and state government, private enterprise, community groups and Mutual Housing residents.
Residents, through their participation in governing the Association and with the assistance of a professional staff, control the management of their housing. They are encouraged to develop a strong sense of commitment and mutual support.
Mutual Housing is not merely a place to live, but a stable community of people from different racial and ethnic backgrounds, ages, and economic levels, working in partnership, bringing together a wide variety of skills and talents which are used for the benefit of all.
