TD Banknorth Charitable Foundation
The TD Banknorth Charitable Foundation and TD Banknorth Inc. announced the Connecticut winners of their 2006 "Housing for Everyone" grant competion and awarded $25,000 to Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford, Inc. as the first place winner of the competition. Catherine MacKinnon who wrote the winning proposal, personally accepted the honor for Mutual Housing and it's board of directors. To be eligible to win, proposals had to target very-low and low to moderate-income individuals and families, and demonstrate a measurable increase in the availability of affordable housing or increase the opportunity for households to obtain affordable housing.
Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford, Inc. will use its funds to support a 24-unit newly constructed mutual housing development in Hartford's Frog Hollow neighborhood.
