HISTORY
Located on Dart and Brookfield Streets in Hartford's Charter Oak-Zion neighborhood, Dart Gardens features large two and three bedroom townhouses with hardwood floors, private entrances and full basements. The development was financed under the Low Income Housing Preservation and Resident Home Ownership Act (LIHPRHA), a HUD program designed to preserve affordable housing.
In addition to financing the acquisition, HUD provided funding to install new energy efficient windows, complete kitchen and bathroom upgrades, build new entrances and construct a community building.
